Tabbed For You — Code Books Tabbed by Hand

A tab set in a bag is not the same as a tabbed book. Tabbed For You means we fit them ourselves before the book ships: seated square, aligned down the edge, pressed properly so they are still there a year later.

It matters for two reasons. On an open-book exam, the clock beats most candidates long before the Code does, and the difference between finding Table 310.16 in four seconds and forty is the difference between finishing and not. On the job, a tab that peels in a truck in August was never worth fitting.

What is available tabbed

The NEC in every edition we carry, NFPA 70E, and the fire protection standards — NFPA 13, 25, 72, 99, 101 — plus NFPA 54. Some NEC editions also come highlighted and annotated, marked up by a licensed master electrician, so you start from a book that already has the calculation paths and the commonly-missed exceptions flagged.

Before you order, one warning

Some licensing boards only permit tabs supplied by the code publisher, and a few refuse hand-applied tabs and highlighting entirely. Texas, for example, requires manufacturer tabs and refuses spiral binding at the door. Check the rules for your exam first — getting this wrong costs you the sitting, not just the book.
