Fire & Life Safety Code Books
The NFPA standards the fire protection trades are held to, and the ones that appear on NICET and state licensing exams: NFPA 13 for sprinkler installation, NFPA 25 for inspection and testing, NFPA 72 for alarm and signaling, NFPA 99 for health care facilities, and NFPA 101 for life safety — along with the International Fire Code.
These standards revise on staggered cycles, so a current set is rarely all one year. What matters is matching each book to the edition your jurisdiction or exam actually names.
Tabbed by hand
Fire protection work means looking things up fast, often standing on a lift. Most of these are available Tabbed For You — tabbed by hand in our shop, seated square, built to survive the job rather than peel off in a month.
Fire alarm and limited-energy work is weighted far more heavily in some states than others — Florida in particular. If you are preparing for a specific exam, tell us which and we will confirm the reference list.
