Every state licenses electricians differently — different boards, different exam vendors, different NEC editions, different rules about what you can bring into the exam room. Type your state below or scroll the alphabetical list to jump straight to your guide: application steps, exam format, current code edition, and exactly which reference materials and markings are allowed.

Don't see your state yet, or working in a city with its own local licensing board? Let us know and we'll prioritize researching it.
