Texas Electrical Exam Prep
Everything for the Texas electrician exams, on the 2026 NEC, supplied to the TDLR and PSI rules that get people turned away at the door.
The exam
Two portions, passed independently at 70% each:
- NEC Knowledge — 59 items (3 unscored), 130 minutes.
- Calculations — 26 items, 110 minutes.
Finish one portion early and the time does not carry to the other. The only permitted reference is the National Electrical Code, 2026 edition — soft-bound, with manufacturer tabs. Not the Handbook.
Two standing assumptions
Unless a question says otherwise, all conductors are copper, and you do not apply Code exceptions or optional calculation methods unless the question directs you to. Candidates lose calculation marks to both every sitting.
What we supply
The 2026 NEC plain, pre-tabbed, or tabbed and highlighted by hand with a master electrician’s notes in the margins — the calculation paths, the exceptions people miss, and where the examiners tend to pair one rule with another. Also the Texas study guide and mock exam, built to the real two-portion format.
